Rock Band 3 proposera 83 chansons dans son disque, un chiffre dans la moyenne des jeux musicaux précédents. Mais le jeu développé par Harmonix possède un atout non négligeable par rapport à son concurrent : 2 000 chansons seront compatibles avec le jeu à son lancement grâce aux nombreux DLC proposés chaque semaine par les développeurs travaillant dans le Massachusetts.
